Last ride of the season

And it was a doozy, the day started out fairly good, worked 4 hours, then drove down to my parking spot and unloaded. Plan was to make the first trip in with necessities and then make a couple more to haul the 1/3 cord of firewood I brought along. Well as they say, the “Best more »

Iron Dog, weird weather, and sick wife

The pre-race conditions for the Iron Dog was pretty strange this year, heck our whole winters been strange this year, I’ve heard it called the winter that wasn’t and the winter of OCD, take your pick, it’s simply been a very different one. Sweetheart Run 2014

I have to say I had my hesitation on this year’s ride and considered canceling it after the warmer than normal temps and rain fall we’d been having. But when I saw the 3 to 4 inches of fresh snow on my deck I was glad we I didn’t cancel it and it turned out more »

Murphy Dome to Tolovana Hot Springs

An excellent ride. Our fearless leader (Tim) called for a breakfast meet at Sourdough Sams to start the day and it was a good call. I always enjoy their breakfast and it does make for a better start in the mornings. Everyone motored to Murphy Dome around 9:00 and unloaded for the ride with a more »

McKay Creek Trail, Dec 21, 2013

The FST ride down McKay Creek Trail to Cache Mtn Cabin was excellent. We had 16 sleds and flat light, but the trail had lots of fresh snow on it and made for a good day of riding, although a short ride at 42 miles RT, everyone enjoyed it. Peter brought along his fire pit more »

Club Rides and Cabin Trip

The weekend before Thanksgivings FST had a planned run from Nordale to Chatanika Lodge. Lots of snow and a decent trail. Stoney was our ride leader and did a good job leading until he delegated that job to me. Actually enjoyed it, breaking fresh snow and making first track. We did get turned around a more »

April 20, 2013

Last local ride to Chatanika Lodge, a 75 mile day and enjoyable. Temps were 45 above on the return ride and I rode without my coat on all afternoon. Have to love it. Share on Facebook

Caribou Lakes, March 30th, 2013

This was the best ride all season. 11 members showed up for breakfast and it was more than I had figured on. Dean (you all do remember our past president Mr. Allen) even showed up. Almost thought it was ghost at first :). Interactive map of the route we took Share on Facebook
