Pre-Memorial Weekend Decision
We had planned to go to Nome Creek again this coming Memorial weekend, however it looks like we’ll be heading in a different direction, where, no idea as of yet. All I know for now is that our camping spot along Nome Creek is buried under 1 to 4 feet of ice. Dang it, it’s more »

Well I’m hoping it is, finally spring that is. With the snow storm coming and ice still on the ground, it feels more like fall, but then the bears are coming out of hibernation, so maybe it is getting closer to summer. Of course the bruin that made this foot print can stay in his more »

April 2013 and a cold spring it is. I figured I had one more trip into the cabin before all the snow melted and I called it a season for hauling materials in to the cabin before summer started and I could go back in and start to use up some of the materials I’d more »

Not this year. We left Altrol’s parking lot around 9:00, thank you Dave Bridges for letting us use your lot to park and headed to the Ice Bridge, all went good to Clear Creek Buttes with one or two little side trips trying to decide which way we wanted to go. Share on Facebook

A few weeks back we rode the Gilmore Trail down to the Chena Flood Projects and back and had to do a lot of ducking through some major brush along the way. So Larry put together a trail brushing crew and we brushed back a fair amount of the trail yesterday. Seven sleds showed up more »

As always the Iron Dog is a week of riding and working for me. Took the week of the 17th March off of work and spent every day riding, setting the track, marking the trail and working on the North Pole Fuel Point. This year was fairly un-eventfully as far as setting the trail went. more »
