First real local ride of the season for me. This wasn’t a planned club ride, but it turned out to be a good one. 10 of us meet at the large pull out on Nordale road and headed towards Pleasant Valley at 22 Mile Chena Hot Springs Road.
Ran into 4 dog teams before we got to Pleasant Valley and most were friendly. One lady driving a team seemed a bit miffed we were on the trail, oh well, hope she appreciated the fact that we did stop and pull off the trail for them.
Went to Mia’s restaurant planning to have lunch but they were closed, so it was back to the quick stop station for some snacks, drinks and restroom visits. From there we headed farther up the valley towards the hot springs and made it to one of the old road house cabins (shown in pictures) just before Colorado Creek.
Ran into another group of riders on the way back and one more dog team, all in all a good ride. A bit long at about 64 miles for a first ride. I know I and a few others were a bit sore 🙂 by time we got back to the rigs.
